The scope consisted of erecting 4 world-scale fired heaters including 4 x twin cell radiant sections with shared convection sections and stacks, 120 burners to produce a duty of close to 400 MMBtu, modularization of the radiant boxes, installation of radiant coils on each cell, 25 levels of platforms, and ~2,100 LM of fuel gas supply lines. Critical lift plans with the use of 650- ton cranes and aerial work platforms.
Construction of 18 pipeline systems totaling 36km and ranging in diameter from 14” to 48”. Most systems consisted of heavy wall carbon steel material (>.500”) and included 48” KEP & KID RCW Lines, 24” Pond 6 Discharge Line, 36” Pond 4/5 Discharge Lines, 30” KFTT IP and LP Lines, 14” & 16” Flotation Thickener Underflow Lines, 24” KFTT TSRU Line, 36” & 48” KFTT Water Transfer, a total of 850m Road crossing Auger Boring, and a total of 3,700m of road crossings.
Phase 1 System 1, 3 and 4 Modifications. Pipeline install and Wye Switch Installs including installation of ~3km CS sleeves and culverts of various diameters, ~1km of 36” A/G piping, ~ 2.4 km of Road Crossings, ~1.1km of 42” U/G piping, ~10.2Km of 28” CS Pipeline, ~45 MT of structural steel, ~1.2Km of 30” CS Pipeline, and coating of 42” U/G Piping.
Varying degrees of module receipt and assembly including heavy lift, placement, interconnection and permanent anchoring. It also includes the field fit, assembly, welding and pressure testing of the piping systems connecting to newly constructed Full Containment Liquid Natural Gas Tank, supporting the client with material receiving and preservation activities and supporting the client with pre-commissioning, commissioning and Mechanical system turnover at the facility, located at a site in Kitimat, BC.
Fabrication and installation of a new natural gas supply & control system to complete the last phase of converting the TransAlta Keephills 3 facility away from coal-fired operations. The new system required the installation of new skid mounted equipment and the replacement of 24 existing burners. Due to the change in fuel source, a portion of the large flu gas ducting needed to be demolished and rebuilt which required use of advanced rigging techniques. Primoris supplied and installed piping, modified existing piping, structural steel and various supports, decommissioned various pieces of equipment, removal / demo of electrical cabling, and instruments. The facility was shut down for 8 weeks to accommodate the burner replacements, connection of the system and ducting modifications. Commissioning support to bring the boiler back online and calibrate the system.
Design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and testing service of three (3) large Tanks at the LNG liquefaction facility and export terminal in Kitimat, BC. Field Erected Tanks include one Condensate Storage Tank (105’ diameter x 60’ height), one HTF Storage Tank (36’diameter x 60’ height), and one Treated Raw Water Holding Tank (100’x 60’ height.) Prefabrication requirements for Manway, Nozzle, and Internal piping self-performed by our fabrication facility. Performed two steel dome roof air raises on the two largest tanks in our scope. Full external coating (all tanks), full internal coating (one tank), and exterior insulation (two tanks).
