ARB in a joint venture had EPC responsibility for a five-unit, GE LMS100-PA, natural gas fueled, air-cooled, Simple Cycle Combustion Turbine, with catalytic emission controls. It is a brownfield, peaking generating station inter-tied with SDG&E on their 138kV and 230kV transmission systems adjacent to the existing Encina Generating Station. The power island equipment, procured by the plant owner NRG, is assigned to the EPC. As the EPC we are providing the BOP equipment, full detail design development, construction services, and plant commissioning, with overall performance and project schedule delivery certainty.
This EPC project included over 33,000 man hours and combined civil and electrical services to install a 69kV gas-insulated switchgear.
This project took over 55,000 man hours and included a 115kV five-bay BAAH with MPAC building and 60kV four-line switchyard and control room with extensive 230kV control scheme modifications.
Replacement of the existing El Segundo Generating Station (ESGS) Units 1 and 2 with a natural gas-fired combined cycle electric generation facility. The new combined cycle is designed to generate 550 megawatts (MW) under nominal conditions. The project used Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), a dry, low NOx combustor and an oxidation catalyst system to reduce air emissions. Construction of concrete foundations, electrical duct banks, all piping systems, two Siemens gas turbines each with a single pressure HRSGs and two Siemens steam turbines with air cooled condensers. Four GSUs, auxiliary transformers, electrical rooms, gas compressors, and other required Balance of Plant (BOP) support equipment.
ARB Industrial has a long term relationship with Kinder Morgan. This long standing relationship has continued to perform ongoing small capital projects throughout California for DOT hydrotesting, emergency call out service/repairs, and routine maintenance. In addition to this work, ARB has performed capital projects to include a large scale tank project, new product services as well as design support. ARB continues to standby this long term partnership with Kinder Morgan.
ARB Industrial was awarded the LARIC project by Andeavor Refining and Marketing. The scope of work included HDD at two locations to accommodate a 33-inch pipe bundle to connect two refineries into one, underground piping, 2 metering and pigging stations, 900 cubic yards of concrete, 22 trap and meter skid sets, and 4,000 linear feet of piping.
The Salt River Project (SRP) Near Term Capacity Projects (NTC) each rated at 99 MW at two of its existing generating facilities. The two existing sites are Agua Fria and Desert Basin. Each NTC Site features two General Electric LM6000PC Units complete with an Inlet Air Filter, Evaporative Cooler and SCR/CO catalyst for emissions control (includes duct work, ammonia vaporization skid, tempering air fans and exhaust ducts), two 100% Fuel Gas Compressors (Agua Fria only), one natural gas conditioning skid, a three winding Generator step-up transformer, one Power Control Module, one Balance of Plant (BOP) Power Distribution Center (PDC), UAT’s and associated BOP equipment. ARB is performing the EPC construction of both facilities.
The project is comprised of two simple-cycle generating facilities consisting of two General Electric (GE) LM6000 hybrid enhanced gas turbine (Hybrid EGT®) systems. The Hybrid EGT® combines a combustion gas turbine with an integrated battery storage component operated by a proprietary software system. The integrated system will be capable of providing synchronous condensing, greenhouse gas-free spinning reserve, high-speed regulation, primary frequency response, and voltage support with the combined response of the gas turbine and battery storage system. This design supports the move toward greater renewable energy in the CAISO energy market.
Divide Station is a regulator station where L-1010 and L 36-1007 meet and is located within the Santa Maria City limits. This complete station re-build project is designed to upgrade Divide Station by replacing four regulators with four new control valves, adding a vessel to address issues with liquids in the pipeline, replacing the Tele-safe with a new SCADA Pak, installing a new five-hundred-foot deep well system with rectifier for cathodic protection, & relocating and upgrading the electric meter from 50 amps to 100 amps. A new downstream block valve was installed for isolation, as is commonplace when working within a station. All excavating was done by hand.
ARB Underground constructed a project for Lennar Communities, Inc. in San Marcos, CA. It involved the excavation and backfill of approx. 1,000-feet of trench and the installation of approx. 8,550-feet of 4-inch and 6-inch plastic conduit as well as the installation of a large electrical vault and 1 electrical handhole.
Line 2000 is a 30-inch high-pressure natural gas pipeline operating in the Southeast Desert Region. This hydro test consists of 7.76 miles of 30-inch HP pipeline, and two 30-inch MLVs as defined by So Cal Gas. This PSEP project included 12 separate test break locations. L-2000-D Badlands hydrotest project begins at the Beaumont Station and runs west through the Badlands terminating within the Moreno Valley Pressure Limiting Station. As part of this project, ARB Team members were tasked with re-building access roads throughout the Badlands territory as well as building a complex engineered platform and cribbing system to be able to perform all necessary work at test break 21 located on a 102-feet span in the Badlands mountain area. ARBU performed all strength testing & provided all testing documentation for this project.
